Found this thread and became interested in the hand drilling vs. power drilling comments. It is something I have been thinking about lately. My feelings are that while power drilling is not acceptable in wilderness area, posting up pictures, directions and such to make it easier for people to get to your favorite area is far more damaging to keeping an area clean and pristine than power drilling a few holes. The bolts on an unreported route sit silently when the drillers are long gone, but leave a trip report and more people keep coming forever and some are bound to be assholes. Even if they are not assholes more people always diminishes the wild qualities of an area. Have fun climbing and I hope I stumble on your secret areas someday, don't worry I won't be posting directions to them if I do.
