Lunesta Fiesta 2021
« on: April 06, 2021, 08:55:08 am »
We are heading back to Courtright. Since it escaped the fires I think it is our best option. (Date TBD). Hoping we will be able to have fires and will have a couple of burn barrels if we can. We will again be at the big camping slab near the end of the road past the dam. Ger will be designing the shirts and beer labels again.

Duck tacos will again be free to all those who show up on Saturday night. Beer will also be free with a donation jar to help cover brewing costs. We purchased a jocky box (basically a large ice chest with a ton of metal coils inside to cool the beer before it reaches the taps) to serve the beer from so we dont have to bring 200 lbs of ice to cool the kegs any more.

We will have;
Rocky's Rye an IPA
Shady Belay Brown
Cedar Light a refreshing lager
Salathe seltzer
Clincher Ginger Cider.

Hope to see you all there. It will be great to see everyone and catch up

I missed a lot of faces I had expected. We had a pretty good turned out of about 30-40 total who stopped through over the weekend. Made new friends and as usual from those who just happened to be there to climb that weekend. We ran through all the beer and ginger cider, served about 140 tacos and had an all-around great time.

I myself didn't actually get to climb. I got up there on Wednesday to get the spot. Since I was solo with my lab (Starlord), I hiked up over to a creek that dumps into Post Corral and then to Hobler Lake to do some fly fishing with some flies I tied. Had a great day and did about 10+ miles. Friday I was showing a buddy around Power Dome because he hadn't climbed there before. He wanted to do A Little Nukey and the new route Ohm Sweat Ohm (   FA: Roger Hayashi, Dave Daly, Stephen McCabe and Michael Wren (July 3 2021). I hiked down to Helms Creek as he was find the rap anchors for Ohm Sweat Ohm. I then played welcome party and made sure the beer pouring cold. My climbing plans for Saturday got canceled when I realized I had left my Tenkara rod at Hobler Lake when I was trying to pull it out to show Ger. Hiked back to Hobler and it was where I had left it. I trail blazed over the ridge to the back of the second Maxon Dome and dropped down between it and Locke Rock down to Dusy Meadow and Creek. Fished the creek down to Courtright and returned via the beach and 4wd trail with just enough time to relax before duck taco prep and cook. Sunday I was a bit stiff from all the hiking and slept in before saying goodbyes and cleanup. Great weekend regardless.

Justin secured www.lunestafiesta.com for us which we will post pictures as submitted. We also have lunestafiesta@gmail.com for any questions about the future events.

*Ohm Sweat Ohm got good reviews from my buddy. I look forward to climbing it.

Sounds like a good time as always and a lot of tacos! Glad to hear it! We will make it another time for sure. The brew must have been exceptional as always. Wondering if the weather held.
Some of my favorite memories of parties turned out to be in surprising storms.
