I spent a lot of hours helping them get the van just right - electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, security, mechanical and much more. First, I helped them find the class B motor home. We got a good price for 60k miles and one owner. We took out the stanking toilet and black water holding tank. They didn't want the microwave so that went too. We added a solar panel and converted the dinette area to bouldering pads/climbing gear storage. The couch that turned into a bed was too short and too narrow so that had to be redesigned and rebuilt. The bed is 5" foam, standard length and a bit narrower than a standard double bed. The bed still easily folds up into a couch. Laure cut about about 10" out of the width of double sheets and mattress pad then sewed them back together to make custom bedding. They have a generator and an AC/DC/propane fridge plus forced air heat. They have a water heater and outdoor shower. The rooftop AC is now gone. High top room to stand up like a human.
They got the van for $10k and had been living in it at the climbing gym. I figure what they saved on rent already paid for the van before they left.
They did get a bunch of gear from this old dad including a full rack, bicycles, bike rack, rear view camera and display and whatever they could glean from the empire of clutter.
They are young and I think they are pretty comfortable.
