Sorry Munge, no pics that day.  However, it was the one day I didn't crater mountain boarding. Must have been " Fear Of Flying"-lars

By the way, I was meaning to post another photo of Dammer as ice pick which was instrumental in saving us the other week...

Not often I get to see a photo of a DAMMERR at work but I love to.

I was thinking of going up for a reconnaissance trip late this week but the weather is looking bad again.

Thanks for the heads up! I should have been looking since technically this is still springtime. Dare I jinx us and say the forecast looks like it could improve?

I think I may have Sunday to play now, and I'm almost thinking about a day trip to SoYo.

Sunday is Mother's Day and although my mom has been dead for many years, I have a wife and kids which apparently means there are expectations to live up to. I have pointed out that she isn't my mom but that fact seems irrelevant.

Yes, what can one do? We have John's mom and my mom to celebrate, so who gets the special day when we both want to celebrate each of them, and they both seem genuinely happy to celebrate on nearby days rather than on the specific Sunday. Still, I can feel a little amiss about it even with their blessing if we are not there on that Sunday.

Thanks for the update Gerard.   From the nearby Badger Pass webcam there's a light dusting of snow so far.  I think there was prior accumulation on the north facing slope (blurred in the photo here) that didn't completely melt in the past week.

At least could we still have a campfire in these conditions? Bringing the campfire wood and tinder from the store and all of course....

Sprinkled here too - East Bay. Very lightly. Nothing to stop climbers except maybe of sandstone.

Best bluff call on a forecast in ages. Good ole SoYo delivered prime weather all weekend.
