worth a shot I suppose, as I'm curious how and if it'll work.

The multiple large windows IS kinda annoying, but may help folks.

I loaded the Picasa feature up and it seems to be for a shared account that we all have access to. Does that seem to be worth it? I imagine it would fill up like any other photo sharing account but quicker.

The big window is annoying. I am pretty sure it wouldn't be useable for smartphones either.

If there are any further comments on this subject, please post to the "Posting Photos and Video" thread. Thanks.

Jerry appears at last!
Thru flickr, but man it sure wasn't straightforward like before. And it's smaller than I prefer. Hmmm. Seems everyone, except maybe photobucket is trying to make it hard or to discourage hosting photos to share elsewhere, other than email, twitter, facebook, blogs, and the like. A real pain to find the proper url link with .jpg at the end.

Edited, as I found out how to post larger. Please tell me the image shows up, John or anyone.

Prescribed burn or Hawaiian volcano?

I can't believe they don't watch those prescribed burns closer. That was really crazy driving through at night.

We were amazed and lucky to see two mountain lions on Minarets close to Chiquito one of the nights of the prescribed burn. Unfortunately, they were too swift for photos.

That is awesome Susan. Years ago, up and behind Jackass Rock, Leo had a long staredown with a mountain lion who strolled into his camp.

Yes, it was exciting! I couldn't believe how close to a more traveled area they were - in the middle of Minarets Road near the parking for Chiquito Dome. We think we surprised them when they were about to make more lions. The duo split with one cat jumping into the nearest woods and the other running across the road only to double back and cross the road again right before our eyes to get back to its mate.

I would like to hear more about that stare down Leo had, though Tiki-Ger just told me what must be the same story last weekend. I had heard that if a cat let you see them, they were ready for you to be their next meal. Have by now heard of a few hair-raising stories of people feeling tracked by a cat when alone out there.

By the way, we've seen so many bears, foxes, owls, ring tails... on the roads at night in recent weeks. Easy thoroughfare for them too.

Seeing those cats was the coolest thing ever. I want one. What could possibly go wrong with having your own mountain lion?

Seen so many foxes lately too. They are everywhere, like mice.

As mentioned, it was Leo, not I. Ger recounted the same story, sounds like. Didn't sound like the cat was threatening in any way, just curious and/or nonchalant.

I like hearing about the wildlife encounters. As much as you guys live out there, you're bound to see it all. Let us know when you see bigfoot, or the elusive SoYo unicorns.

Saw two albino Jackalopes in one day. What are the chances? Saw a Keebler Elf too.

my two small bears sound so anticlimactic after the possibility of soyo unicorns!  Then again myths abound. Long multi pitch First Ascents, quality granite, and good people are supposed to be in the Soyo too. ;)

A solar powered tent that will run 110 or 220, perfect for this time of year!

  8) :)  :D  ;D

OK,
a bit too many smileys, but that's some funny stuff guys.

Jerry and Sigrid have become friends with a hawk (or was it a peregrin?) out at Wamello Dome, I hear.
