We saw a group looking happily camped shy of the trailhead last weekend, but I don't imagine that would be enough room for a sizeable group. You couldn't actually walk in on the normal trail up there yet because it was a stream, or at least we couldn't get on it without getting wet. We parked outside the usual trailhead parking area because it's all snowy or sopping in there. To the far right we hiked in on long trees that had fallen almost perfectly and kept mostly off the muck, then gained the partially snow covered, fallen trees & needles strewn trail, which wouldn't be that hard to get a little lost on.
Surprised there was no camp host yet at the campground and would be surprised if there is still none, being after MemDay. But maybe....
