Just looking at a copy of a July 1973 Ascent mag, and low and behold there is a brief mention of Becky's route on the South Eagle Beak.
On October 6, Hooman Aprin and I made the second climb of the south (first) peak of the Eagle Beaks, a craggy granitic formation on the Shuteye Peak ridge, high above the San Joaquin River. Our route via the east cracks was a new one, the only system in the monolithic east face. The final two pitches, largely jamming, were strenuous but extremely interesting. -Fred Beckey
