How is the climbing there? Looks like its maybe face/slab? Should I check it out? Will I be shot by overly enthusiastic hunters?

Go there you'll like it, if you're lucky you may see the Con Dome feral goat. Road is a little rough.

Not sure when they close the gate but it's a fun time. A few fun more featured routes on the right side but all are a fun time. The spire on the upper level is heady to the first bolt but also fun.

I'm intrigued by this goat. That in of itself might make the short drive up there worth while. Dwight mentions in his book something about the "land of 100' boulders". Can anyone comment, or is it a "explore and live the adventure" type of experience?

The gate was open on Tuesday and I think it opens and closes with deer season. The land of the not 100' boulders is cool and has one of the best cracks in the area. It requires either driving the Bald Mountain jeep trail or a fairly long walk. I think if you go on foot approaching from Bald Mt. summit on Dinkey Creek road is the shortest way. If you see the goat try not to make eye contact as he will steal your soul!

I went to Condome today and saw chalk, was it yours Wingnut? No goat and no goat sign though. Gate is still open and temps good, get out before winter arrives.

I think it was Dwight and Barry
