Wonderful adventures! Much good mojo to them!
Seems like they are set "I have managed to make super awesome chocolate chip cookies" Just sayin.

Looks so fun!!
That is so awesome that they are doing this. I laughed when they reported getting mice in their van, we had that in our old VW van. Sucks.

Air conditioning intake is not your or the mouse's friend.

Wow what a summer! Their travels are a dream! And they are so strong.... That is some seriously excellent climbing they are doing. Wonderful - thank you for sharing!

They are strong climbers, certainly stronger than I will ever be. Great kids too, I already miss having them around. We'll have to lure them back to SOYO someday.
-
Yes lure them back and you with them....

They are planning to be gone for a year but called a couple weeks ago to say they will be here for Thanksgiving.

They might not ever go back out again if they sleep in a real bed!!

I spent a lot of hours helping them get the van just right - electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, security, mechanical and much more. First, I helped them find the class B motor home. We got a good price for 60k miles and one owner. We took out the stanking toilet and black water holding tank. They didn't want the microwave so that went too. We added a solar panel and converted the dinette area to bouldering pads/climbing gear storage. The couch that turned into a bed was too short and too narrow so that had to be redesigned and rebuilt. The bed is 5" foam, standard length and a bit narrower than a standard double bed. The bed still easily folds up into a couch. Laure cut about about 10" out of the width of double sheets and mattress pad then sewed them back together to make custom bedding. They have a generator and an AC/DC/propane fridge plus forced air heat. They have a water heater and outdoor shower. The rooftop AC is now gone. High top room to stand up like a human.
They got the van for $10k and had been living in it at the climbing gym. I figure what they saved on rent already paid for the van before they left.
They did get a bunch of gear from this old dad including a full rack, bicycles, bike rack, rear view camera and display and whatever they could glean from the empire of clutter.
They are young and I think they are pretty comfortable.

Forgot to say the van came with an awing which will be nice for sun and rain. We also made velcro, snap and magnet bug screens for all the windows and side door. Power rooftop vent too.

What an awesome way to live young. They will make life long memories. Very cool of you to hook them up like that. What are they using to cook.

The little RV came with a two burner cooktop and a sink. They kept the grey water tank so the sink works.

Talk about deserving a Best Dad Ever award!
