hi all, i was at the lost eagle simming holes yesterday and on the way up the dirt road three dude's were clearing out the road from bush with chain saw's, when i stopped to ask what's up, they said they were clearing out the bush so cars do not get scratched when driving up to lost eagle, i gave them that mike arechiga look, REALLY!!!, i said, if one is worried about scratching there car at shuteye maybe they should not be up there lol, they may be the ones who cleared out the bush off the road to the big sleep area, anyway, they also said they were having a ton of the friends at the lost eagle area for the 4th, so heads up on that if your thinking of going there is 4th, happy climbing cheers mike a. ps, that fricking grahmy book :-(!!!

I guess the McDonald's and 7-Eleven near the pools that Ger and I always joked about isn't too far off in the future.

Brush scratches on the car are like brush scratches on your legs - proof you had a genuine climbing trip on the ridge.  ;)

Yeah, that place felt so amazing as we knew it - hopefully it won't be doomed too soon.

Doesn't the fire ban include not using chainsaws as of June 30.

Edit-nope it doesn't if to maintain a road...

LE is looking good. Still wild. The trim job was nicely done, not over done. Looks like the debris generated was also disposed of bc we didn't see it anywhere. Maybe that's all the people who did it had in mind or maybe your interaction with them, Mike, helped. Cheers...good running into you out there, too.

Nice of them to trim the brush.  Sounds like they did a good job.   Even though I've gotten a decent number of scratch marks over time, I still cringe when I hear the scraping of chaparral on metal, much like fingernails on a chalkboard.    Something to be said for having a normal width vehicle so others will be inclined to trim the brush first :)

Well apparently they didn't do a good enough job, we ripped a mudflap off of our truck anyhow! But the paint is OK.

Sounds like a fun road!   I'd gladly sacrifice a mud flap to get the body scrapes off.

Well that we have both of now. At first we thought we would get them fixed... but it's kind of nice to not care too much anymore.
