Title: Campfire Ban 2015 Season
Post by: John on July 01, 2015, 12:39:01 pm
The ban is officially started for 2015. I am surprised they waited this long considering all of the early fires and all.

Re: exemption #3, I'd like to know what constitutes a "recreation residence". Doesn't a tent count?  :)

About time, it's way too crispy out there. And hot.

Hah. Nate. I'm sure you're just being funny.... Recreation residence must only be a property for rent or privately owned that does not rove.

Other ways to light camp: Got a string of these things which are great:
Camp Deco (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-LED-Camp-Lantern-String-Lights/11030636) - runs on 3 AA's - bring extra in case you leave them on all night.

And this thing lasts a while and can be made into 4 lights to spread around:
Camp Light (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/coleman-quad-led-lantern/1040513607?skuId=40513607?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=BingAds%20label%3DLighting&mcid=PS_bing_nonbrand_lighting_&creative=6136889158&device=c&matchtype={MatchType})

Backcountry, a plastic water bag glows and casts a nice lamplight in front of a headlamp.

As I understand the fire ban, you can have fires within much of the Wilderness areas and not within the regular FS areas? There is a map showing the patches of no-fire areas in Wilderness but it doesn't look like all that much. Weird.

Recreational res? Well no  that would include a res that could rove. RVs... Guess you just have to justify living out there even if in a tent by working for a term such as loggers... Or just living there for a term recreating. Ok. Pretty ambiguous really.

Anyhow pretty nifty fireplace idea thar Munge. If only it could generate roasted marshmallows.

Good thing. Starting to feel too cold to have to do without.
