Post by: John on March 12, 2015, 10:55:07 am
Last minute, I know. I really don't want to do yardwork and would really like to go to Soyo....
Help!

Thanks Jeff. Wish you were closer or a pass was open, I would have happily driven out to your neighborhood.

I met up with Munge and TT at a crag with "a one mile approach"....try about 4 miles! Sandbagger. Great weekend though, thanks Munge.

Did mapmyride on it, and a very conservative estimate is 3miles each way. So 12 miles for the weekend, minimum.

I need a LE pools weekend now. lol

Pictures for proof. 1/4 mile downhill is my guess.

I predict the pass will open soon.

Glad you all had fun .

Thx. Yeah. Quality days, both days. Kind of interested in getting out there this coming weekend if temps stay low.

This may not be entirely the correct thread for the question, but...

The pictures are making me crazy, but at least I can see my next trip on the fast approaching horizon.  Now if they'll just open the gate above MP.  It is closed still, right?  I still have a few weeks though so I assume I'll be OK.  Where is the best place to check status of the gate(s) etc?  (sorry, a little on the lazy side to go poking through threads if people have a link handy - if not I can probably figure it out.)

The bigger issue I guess is Tioga.  Pretty much guaranteed they won't open that in time.  I hate looking up past my side of Mt. Thom, thinking "there it is, probably no more than 50 mi as the crow flies" then spending all that extra time making a big loop because the pass isn't open.  Sigh.

MMP gate is still closed. Not the gate down at reservoir, but at the cut off.

Sorry for the pics. :) They are actually from Hwy 108.

Yeah, the cut off gate not the pool gate.

Pictures of anything with dark granite are enough.  The east side has so much light colored granite.  Just seeing that dark stuff is enough to make one crazy.
