Does anyone have a clear shot of Cat Wall from Balloon Dome? I would love to see one. Thanks.

Hi John,  here's one, but from a slightly different spot than your requested location.   I was too lazy to hop across the gorge.   Any idea how that tree-line descent on the left is?

Thanks DJ, that shot looks awesome! Where were you when you took this? Miller Rock?

Not too many people would call it a "hop" across that gorge, right!?

Again, thanks so much.

Getting to the picture spot involved following the trail towards Cassidy Bridge down several switchbacks and then up an annoying uphill stretch.   From the top of this uphill section deviate south off the trail to the granite shelf and then slabs sloping deeper into the gorge.   I stayed on pretty reasonable slopes, but there was a temptation to go just a little bit further into the gorge.

The picture angle of is a little misleading as there are some serious roofs on the wall that just look like lines in the pic.   And that triangular cave at the top of the apron on the left looks intriguing.

It just "looks" so close!

That line up the middle looks awesome! It has to have been done?

Look at the humongous curtain of rock at the top in the middle. Looks like a giant flake or exfoliating sheet....

Looking at the photo posted above, I don't think it shows Cat Wall. The photo appears to be of this slab:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/EcQNvt14hxJNojyh7 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/EcQNvt14hxJNojyh7)

In his AAJ writeup, Sean Jones states:

"The line goes directly up the center of the largest south-facing wall opposite Balloon
Dome, but slightly upstream..."

The slab in the photo is east facing. There is a south facing wall just upstream from the posted photo which I suspect is Cat Wall. The posted photo looks like it was taken from the top of Cat Wall rather than of Cat Wall. I think Cat Wall is here:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZK58mYk7FEuyTFwL7 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZK58mYk7FEuyTFwL7)

This wall is upstream of Balloon Dome and faces south as Sean described.

I took some photos that show what I think is Cat Wall:
