EDIT New for 2015:
http://www.preventwildfireca.org/Campfire-Permit/ (http://www.preventwildfireca.org/Campfire-Permit/)
These are good for the calendar year in all of California. Free is cheaper than the ticket.

Thanks John. This saves a trip to a FS office.

Glad you saw this.
Those offices are never open when you want to be legit and get a fire permit but they sure don't mind writing a ticket! I get one every year now since it is so easy online.

Bump for renewal

Fire restrictions are in affect........as of 05/07/15

That's just for SEKI, not Sierra, just it is clear for the uninitiated.
The only fire related alerts for Sierra are these... http://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/sierra/alerts-notices/?aid=28110

thank john way easier then going to the rancher station to get one.
-
Isn't it great to this online!? The ranger stations are never open when I need to get a permit.
Note: I changed the link for the permits, it requires less clicking around now.
-
I just called the SNF headquarters in Clovis. No restrictions yet for the SNF, but coming soon.
-
Thanks for the update. I was just wondering when the restrictions will kick in, it was late June last year.

This weekend is good, but next weekend who knows.
I like that on-line permit process for fire permits. I wish they'd have one for wilderness permits.
-
I must have read that wrong. Thanks for the clarification. Good to hear. I like my evening fires.

Specially nice when skeetery like it has been.
