Ha ha. I didn't say I wasn't going. I was just mentally preparing for what kind of Saturday we will have, cooler climbing under cloud cover or drinking under the canopy out of the rain....I enjoy both.

HA, you animal. Would you rather be running from clouds or valley leo's.

Good weekend to bring the armory again and shoot away. Getting an AR soon? My advice, spend a bit more and you'll be happier.

Happy to help- glad you are not pistol shopping. Brown just took two giant steps towards tossing the Second Amendment out the door in our lovely state today.

Happy to offer advise If I can help.

weather was terrible, and fun, and we got some climbing done.

why was I not surprised to run into John and Susan while driving out (to go home pretty much), and then we end up getting a new climb done and I'm wearing shorts. Crazy soyo!

Looking back, I am not sure what we were expecting to find besides you guys heading towards the bad weather! Good thing we bumped into you guys. Great place to spend a rainy day, right?

Whoa what a storm! Soyo, Yos, high country epics abound!

Saturday, the hell clouds were moving in hard on me while I was drilling an anchor.

Kev was cleaning the pitch with lightning rods all around.

Sunday, Spent an hour and a half in a mini cave on the approach, full on pummeling with hail.

Awesome weekend!

It was a close one Dan. Percent forecast for 5hr drive each way is always the trick. But I'm down to climb most of the time.

However, Josh says I'm light duty because I want to stay in the air conditioning next weekend and drink Skinny Girl Margaritas by the pool.

LOL

#don't hate me because I'm light duty

My son has to work Friday evening as well as Sunday afternoon (PG Sunnyvale) but he and his girlfriend want to do something so I may drag them up to QT and finish a route Bob and I started last year. Or, if something else fun comes up....

Sounds like you'll have very little time, Dan, but I almost always think it's worthy for two nights of camping even if there's only one day of climbing.

Looking forward to the better weather forecast for this weekend. Not nearly enough days of summer left, but sure is good being in the middle of them. Latest for Shuteye elevation 7295 ft:

Friday Night Mostly clear, low 54. SW wind 5 mph becoming NE in evening.
Saturday Sunny, high 82. NE wind 5 mph becoming WSW in AM.
(http://forecast.weather.gov/images/wtf/medium/few.png)Saturday Night Partly cloudy, low 54. WSW wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light & variable  in evening. Winds could gust to 15 mph.

(http://forecast.weather.gov/images/wtf/medium/sct.png)Sunday Mostly sunny, high 82. NNW wind 5mph becoming WSW in AM.

The kids, if people in their 20's are kids, seem to want to go. I suggested a day trip but they say they want to camp. My son works to 8:45 on Friday so I am trying to decide between late Friday of early Saturday.

I do need to get to Queen's Throne and fix a bad bolt we left there so climbing there is an option. Afternoons there are ok in the summer once it gets shady.

Maybe something else, I really don't care as long as the kids have fun.

If there is a group camping someplace, let me know and maybe we will show up.

The song Riders on the Storm came to mind as a massive wall of clouds built quickly, and the arete of it remained barely NW of us most the day.  Some rumblings of thunder and threat of rain...,  but the more consistent drizzle didn't occur until late afternoon and didn't last long. And that was that.
