Glad to see so many people show and get in on the climbing. Paul and I don't climb as much during Lunesta events since there are usually quite a few newbies that show and we usually feel responsible to show them a good time and get them in on some climbing. Got a few new climbers their first leads and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I didn't mind since I got to visit JLT (Thunder Dome) and Bowler Crag which I had not previously visited. I did get to do a solo hike and scouted a bunch of stuff. I know there were some FAs happening on several formations and a couple guys repeated 1,000' of Hangover' on Golden Toad. Justin and Kalem ran up Lone Pine Crack on BoR during the moon and Matt and Fred simul climbed their route Luscious on Golden Toad during the moon.
In talking to various climbers, Every formation and the boulders at the Balls had climbers on them at some point during the weekend.
I was stoked to be able to see many friends and, although short, get to talk with Munge again while finally meeting Lars and Roger. I need to prep the tacos stuff earlier so I have more time to visit. I think we served about 300 tacos. Got good reviews as always.
Jerry did an awesome art work for the T-shirt. It turned out great. Thanks Jerry.
Paul's beer is always a hit and we ended up getting through all 30 ga.
Jerry Anderson couldn't make it but wanted to tell everyone hello and wished he could have been there.
We had some gut busting moments this weekend not to mention at one point late Saturday night when the bottle passing started. I looked around and every other person had a bottle they were sipping and passing. Too funny. The fact that I almost fell in the fire, twice, will not be mentioned. Let me hear your funny stories.
Munge, Lars, I do have extra shirts left over. I don't use any of the payment aps or exchanges (I am low tech) but if you passing through I can meet up with you or meet you at a crag if going.
I am taking location suggestions for next years Lunesta Fiesta which I believe will fall on June 5-7. Lars suggested Dinkey Dome which would be awesome if the bridge gets fixed and the gate gets opened. There would be great fishing as well but the early time of the event might cause an issue crossing Dinkey Creek to get to the dome. I have not been to Chiquito, Is there enough climbing for our big group?
