Snow in Tahoe today. Hoping it is snowing up in the SoYo. Really need the precip, and a good justification for me not climbing up there this weekend.

Looks like you're in a big catchers mitt.

Is there dry weather at Pinns?

If you check the Soledad, CA forecast, says partly sunny. No precip identified.

If you point click to the East Side of Park, it says

Sunday
A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. Light and variable wind. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

That's not even enough to think about.

Sunday Night
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

thinking about it now. :(

Some "before and after" shots from the Badger Pass web cam in the national park just north of SoYo.
Friday's image on top, Monday's on bottom.

Good news: some snow!   Bad news: Probably not enough to ski on and just enough to make access to parts of SoYo questionable.

I have to say, I am surprised that the "before" had even that much snow, you know?

I am really interested in a Soyo road conditions report if anyone has been out there. Anyone? I am not mentally prepared to go back and start acting like it is winter again after the last month of dry conditions out there. Not fair!

Wow, really? Nothing could have been more fair to climbers than this non-existant winter, no? :)

Thankfully it was snowing at my inlaws at Bass Lake this morning, so presumably dumping pretty good up thousands of ft. higher.

Good point Nate. I shouldn't complain.

Yeah snow in Bass Lake is a sign that this weekend would be overly optimistic.

Nope, new line on East Side of Pinns. Kind of near Yaks.

Not sure if it is general knowledge but the Jeep trail to the shuteye peak lookout is open and dry as a bone.

Good news! Any other year past I might of thought this an April Fool's joke.
