It is currently snowing below Shaver Lake and in Coarsegold as I write this. The hills should get a good coating. Shows some weather for Thurs and Friday this week as well.

Hi all, saturday at fresno dome climbing in a t-shirt and shorts, was at the balls sunday climbing and bouldering around, it was a super cold day but still could climb, finished the day driving the whole loop to check out the road work and drink a beer at mile high lookout, this week super cold here and chance of rain and snow.

Nice to hear it's snowing.

We just took a tour of Soyo and found it alarmingly dry with roads mostly clear of snow and ice. Thought we would get stopped by at least one too large icy patch, but the 4WD made it through just fine. Even made it out to the Balls and Lost Eagle. Many downed trees on the main roads were cleared and the gates were wide open on them at the time. We assumed the dirt road to Big Sleep was locked as was Gray Eagle's.

Unfortunately our sunny memories of Soyo were no where else to materialize that day. It was cold everywhere even though for a little while it looked like summer out there. LE was not quite its usual beautiful self with all the ground cover and trees so dry and without much green, not a flower in sight, plus it was overcast when we arrived there.

Still warmed the cockles of the heart to visit. After all, we again were driven away from Yosemite 2-hour traffic delays etc. Kind of expected that due to the combination of Valentines Day, a 3-day weekend and Horse Tail Falls even though I think those falls are bone dry.

Thank you Mike A. for keeping us posted on the accessible conditions...! :)

Supposed to get 4' of snow in the Sierra over the weekend. Sierra Summit by Huntington Lake is opening for skiing over the weekend.

Finally! Maybe we’ll get lucky and get more snow this month.

I just heard this morning at the gym that Sierra Summit is open with all runs. The mountains from Fresno/Clovis yesterday were beautiful with all the snow.

Not sure if you have to be logged into FB to see it, but basically the spillway at MMP is running good. Water level is way up. Good time for a canoe approach?

Hi all was on the by way loop today, went all the way to Jackass Rock climbed some short fun crack there, no snow, gate open  past Mammoth pools Rd turn off, gates closed at 7s02 to big sleep and 6s66x to gray eagle dome both have down trees at the gate looks like some one did that to keep the road closed! also went down to Mammoth pools look around spill way raging, saw those little slab routes at the dam climbed them. Not much snow on shuteye, no snow at the balls snow on fresno dome, unless we have a big storm, looks like things will open in a week or two. happy climbing Mike A.
