I was thinking of driving up this weekend to see what roads were open but the weather doesn't look good.

It is true that weather forecasts are usually pessimistic. I was looking at NWS:

Yeah, the weather doesn't look too appealing for just Saturday. Too far for a day trip for us unless we are seriously jonesing.

As of yesterday afternoon, Beasore Road is still blocked by snow a little past the Central Camp Rd.
I went thru a few however they got deeper and I was flying solo.
I am sure there is at least a 4ft drift in the road at the Cold Springs Summit.
The gate to High Eagle was open and I heard a few gym folks were headed up to Dreamscape....don't know how far they got.
My Plan A was to go cast a line in some secret fishing holes but Plan B had me scoping out the WatchTower and Doggy Dome.
Weather threatened and was cold.....nice enough hike though.

Glad you got out Ger!

Wingnut- It has been a few weeks since out on that side of the ridge but there was a pretty big snow bank along the right side of Gray and in the gullies still and the gate is unlocked. Might be better now and I think you could still climb most areas if you don't mind a little snow at the base. It didn't look drippy since there was no visible snow on the summit.

Road to High Eagle was clear. Climbed Amphitheater and Talon this afternoon.

Gerard, must have been you that I ran into on Sat. when I failed to find Doggy dome, hopefully you had better luck than me!

Wow, that's great you made it up there. Were there any areas nearby that you still can't get to?

Thanks for the update!
