Dip my toe in a return to SoYo
« on: September 02, 2014, 11:28:19 am »
Belabor the point

First a little Fresno Dome action. Hadn’t been there in years, had fun, got lost :)

Great rock

Her first trip to SoYo

LS on the shart end

Getting there

Gripped!!!1111 ;)

Remember, no photo no summit.

Who dat?

Time for din-din

At one of the world’s great camp spots.

I love Balloon Dome in the morning, smells like… yesterday

The Shuteye Ridge burn was spotty and looked like it was sorely needed too. Road and power crews are in there now replacing power poles and downing burnt snags now.

This is the stuff of which dreams are made…

Down the road

Back home.

Thanks LS!!!!!

Heyhep!

Nice glimpse into a perfect weekend.

Fire damage looks less than horrid!

Hey there nice meeting you guys! I take it the Minarets were open to North Fork?
I took Grizzly to Beasore actually.

Yep open. Fire definitely crossed the road at Shuteye. Power poles and lines burnt out - crews working furiously yesterday (x3 over time? :)   ) but road was open.

I would not be surprised at all if they reclose it during the week.

I would suspect they just won't say it is open and let those adventurous enough to check pass on thru. It's speculation at this point.

Looks like a great trip Dingus! We are nervous about seeing the fire damage and Minarets opening is the first step. Thanks for the update.

Looks like DMT had a nice weekend. Makes me think I better get out there. I think I've gone climbing exactly two weekends this year. If anybody needs an out of shape, aging, mediocre climbing partner, let me know.
