Thanks! Over the past few years, we’ve poked around, probably on the usual newbie stuff: a little on Tollhouse, Fresno, Big Sleep, Boulder Garden. Yes, that is Sunset Shaman, from our first trip—as are the pix from partway up the road to the lookout.
We did make it to the lookout, without much damage to the Tacoma. I’ve been climbing for lots of years—though timidly, and without much improvement. But we really like the exploring, the remoteness, the dome-climbing, the super featured granite, all the thing you all know already. We had a nice little mini-epic last year coming down the wrong way from Big Sleep after simuling Afternoon Nap to do a little route on Midway.
We’re hoping to get up to Milky Way Wall, and maybe Eagle Beaks this early season. After wandering around a bit every summer (last year we spent a few trips on Sonora Pass) I think we’re pretty much planning on concentrating on Shuteye. I really admire the spirit and enthusiasm you have for it.
