True Munge. I am a second on most of our FA crux pitches and consider myself an essential part of the process as a trusted belayer, cleaner of gear, and capable climber.

I have seemed to notice in the last 43 years of doing FA's that unless it is a solo it takes two or more to do a route. I consider my belayer just as important as any piece of gear.
