On that Delk climb, we should've gotten a photo of the 'bathtub' - it wasn't particularly spectacular in person but I always was curious about it from the Spencer topo.

It's not very exciting but this is the currently-empty "bathtub" in the foreground.

Don't try and climb to the bathtub drawn in the current guide it is drawn like you go to this other hole out in the middle of the face which would be bad. That said, the original topo is drawn really weird and is unclear where to go from the true bathtub. We went straight up via a left-facing flake to runout face which matches the topo's location of a crack but it showed a right-facing flake. A right-facing flake existed (you can see my last piece in it) but in reality looked a lot less appealing and would be a ropedrag issue having left the belay at the bathtub. Anyhoo, this climb has serious logistical issues and will never be a trade route.

I enjoyed it enough not to say it would never be a trade route. It reminded me for a moment while climbing it of White Horse Ledges in NH.It wasn't the most 5.fun ever had but was still fun. Way run at the top as topo  indicates though. Would be something to see in the spring sometime between when the waterfalls across the creek are going strong and yet these climbs are dry enough. Also we didn't find what was 5.8 about the exit pitches other than their being so run.

"Like waterwheel falls in Tuolomne..."

Well, I found this link - I'd say kind a like that:
Waterwheel Falls

We've posted a shot of the pretty Fallen Eagle area falls before somewhere on this site.

Really funny to hear "trade route" being associated with any route in SoYo, but I guess it's evolving a bit to that point as more visitors come and certain routes get some buzz.
Looks like a fine quiet outback adventure to me, confusing topo and all.

Yup, no trade routes in the area. That's for sure.  :-X

Wonder if the bathtub was full of water when Delk did the FA.

I'll bet Nate. His original topos show some dates in early spring.

No rubber duckies tho.
