Nice pix John!  I'm picturing high tech gadgetry, computers, satellite links, and Dr. Evil (or any other Bond villain) tucked away in that cave.   ;)

Thanks!

I totally wonder what is in there. There appears to be enough room for an evil laboratory for sure!

Whatever is in there, it's sitting on 190 MWatts of power.   What's to worry about?

When I first saw that tunnel I knew it wasn't a core power-producing part of the dam since the power lines coming out of it are a really thin gauge and very little water exits it. I think that tunnel probably has a small turbine to power some local buildings and devices like pumps and lights. Most of the water goes 7+ miles down the canyon in a big tunnel to the Mammoth Pumphouse #8.

Yes, more photos! I'll see what I can dig up.

I do not know what that roof looks like at 1/4 Day Dome and am curious, hint hint, but glad to hear your friend got a clean TR, Mike A, yoga moves and all. Sounds fun if you don't wrench yourself.
