The road was barricaded where Beasore hits the Minarets pavement. Not wanting to upset the man, we drove down past the pack station and didn't encounter any barricades. The smoke was fairly bad in the morning but a NW breeze came up and the afternoon was nice.

What is the dome in the bottom rt of the last pic?

That would be the massive Balloon Dome.

Same day:

Looks like a fun time, Dan. Did you climb Snake Crack?

Yep, Snake Crack on the main dome. The traverse to the bolt is the spiciest move but not that hard. It's a fine climb.

I climbed something between the two lines you showed me on the little dome. There were some bolts but gear belay on the first pitch and tree belay on the second. Nice warmup.

Always a great partner and great guy...

Jerry

EDIT: Ah, shucks. Wanted to share a photo, but stupid Google has altered Picasa and made it nigh impossible for me to figure out how to find the image url to paste here like I used to. Why oh why do they have to try and force me into a lame social network to compete with Facebook and disrupt all that was familiar and useful.

Nate-
Picasa is way too overwhelming and invasive for my comfort but has some cool features. I hope you figure out how to post the photo. I still agree with what your post says, even without the photo, "Always a great partner and a great guy...Jerry"

Yes, Nate is a great person, and I imagine great climbing partner! And I would like to see that photo. If you need help posting it, I'm happy to too...  Jerry, you could email the photo for posting.

You guys are embarassing me! I will say I have a certain satisfaction that Nate, the computer guy, can't post a picture. I have some nice FA pictures of Sigrid and I but have given up!

If the problem is photo storage, I have lots of storage available on my website. I could set up a password protected folder where photos can be uploaded. Certainly not unlimited but I think I have 100's of gigs of unused storage. Let me know.

:) I actually CAN post a picture, but am currently being stubborn about starting an account with just one more photo hosting service. It's really aggravating (and mostly time consuming) to have to keep jumping from one service to another to perform what should be a simple task. Not so enthused about starting a photobucket account now. Maybe I'll go back to flickr. Stupid google had to change Picassa on everyone and I don't believe it's possible to post up a pic from there on other sites anymore, and I'm tired of digging to figure out if it's possible. Used to be sorta easy.

I will load up a similar feature for Picasa just for you Nate. Tell me if it is worth the space on the screen. This could get crowded.

I can do Flickr and others too, so let me know peoples.
