Tilt of Shame - love it. Good name for a moderate slab climb perhaps.

Cobbledik flying up this climb while getting his groove on, in thick soled, hightop tenny shoes no less. Dang.

Saturday May 16, 2015 9:30 or 10:00 AM. These are near infrared images. Everything you see is outside the range of the human eye.

Beautiful shots, I love IR photography. The patchy skies this weekend make it even more contrasty than without. Got any more?

Where the hell did you take that Fuller shot from???!!

Is the Shuteye Ridge shot from the gated road a little south of the road to the Eagles on the opposite side of the road? In the burnt area? We were exploring around down there recently and recognize a similar vantage point.

Oh wait, never mind. I realize you were way farther east than I thought.

WOW!    Great shots Daniel, the detail is amazing.    Dedicated IR camera?

Shots taken from the south side of the river.

The camera is an old 6Mp DSLR that I converted. I never did get the focus just right so good shots require some luck. Cost $100 for an IR filter and tons of patience to take the camera apart and put it back together. I think I had it apart about 5 times. The crux is figuring out how to take the camera apart and pull out the sensor.

Seems these were taken from across the SJR then, Dan? It's neat to see the infrared images of the fire damage which to the naked eye look cast in infrared already. I wouldn't have noticed the fire damage in your photos except for the burned remains of matchstick tree groves.

That shorty patch of slab in front is what we call the Beehive as there used to be many bee boxes planted around the turnout. Now moved. The area did have some nice camping even with the bees not far off there before the fire. The wildflowers are coming back enforce, and parts of that area are still pleasant I think.

Yes, looking across the river. There are two slabs in the foreground. I've never been to either.

Photo with regular type camera from a slightly different location.
