Southern Yosemite

Hi all, hope you all are safe and healthy. I have been going to Chiquito Dome, Jackass Rock and Mammoth Pools Dome the last few week since SIP. Their are a few people up there camping, fishing, and even seen a couple climbers at Chiquito Dome. Was up there today saw 1 car at Chiquito Dome and some campers and fishermen. Its mellow up there and if you are fighting with if you should stay home or brake out and come up here, I think you should go climbing!!! as long as you do not go where others are it is safe!!! The gate at 6s66 up to Gray Eagle area is open, the gate at 7s02 to Big Sleep still closed, the snow is not on the road (Minarets) until past Arch Rock. Hope this was helpful and you all are good, happy climbing Mike A.

Hey Mike!

I've been climbing at Chiquito a fair amount, have only seen a handful of climbers.
I ran into Sean out there, doing some bolt replacement on Top Gun and Sweet Liberty (Thanks Sean!)

Do you know if its possible to get to Fuller Buttes yet?
Any beta on routes there (other than what is in the AAj and Spencer book)?
Maybe I'll see you out there one of these days

Good afternoon, yes been seen a couple cars at he Chiquito Dome Parking area, you can get to the road to Fuller Buttes (Hell Half Acre) but from there still snow on the the road , with the weather getting hot now all snow will be gone in less then a week, Most of the newer bolted routes are on the East Fuller Butte that are not in the Spencer book. Hope that was helpful hope to run in to you up there, happy Mike A.
