Lost Camera
« on: July 07, 2020, 10:07:06 am »
It feels like a long shot but we lost a camera in a blue camera case this last weekend at the balls. We would have dropped it either at the Nightwatch upper parking or at the pullout below Tempest. The card is full of photos of a pretty brunette woman climbing and some of a middle-aged dork. If seen please email us at jhgodar at Yahoo...com. Thanks.

There's hope Sue. Steve Bosque and I were ferrying a load up to Liberty Cap and we decided to eat some brownies for entertainment, to kill some of the drudgery. I set my camera down absentmindedly and continued the trudge up. Later I discovered my error, too late. Low and behold, some well minded tourist picked it up and turned it in. On a wild shot I called lost and found. They had it!  There are decent people in the world still.

Thanks Lars for the encouragement! Yes there are good people who feel for lost photos and turn them in as Lost & Found. We posted a bit more about it in hopes to find: Mt. Project, Bowler camp board, and inquired with Sierra Forest stations. Very few folks at the Balls at least last Friday night and part of Saturday probably especially due to the road closure last Monday, so thought there was a good chance we'd find it this last Friday.

Actually we met a very nice man the day we lost the camera, and he called himself Jerry 'the Jet'. He rapped his excellent rap lyrics to us of an El Cap ascent, made up his own words based on the Lose Yourself rap from 8-Mile. This when we were sitting in the dirt sharing photos after a great climbing day. The Jet was so fun and lively, and had stopping by looking for area climbing recommendations. He had a brand new cherry sprinter - perfect climber vehicle decked to the nines, excepting that you wouldn't want to take it off road for being too pretty and vulnerable to scratches. Anyway, I had hoped we might run into him, thinking maybe he could have found the camera the next day after we left, but could not find him this last weekend. He's one of those people one hopes to run into again at any rate.

Still bumming.... Had a whole bunch of photos of healthy Dudleya flowers for the resident Dudleya man, too. And shots of the Golden Toad to show the possible ways up the blocky section far right.
