« on: August 21, 2014, 09:44:20 pm »
I know there are cabins back there off Grizz and such, but anyone rent them? Anyone stay at one?

like living in a barn? like a spa resort?

I think the "cabins" off of Grizzly are actually only one or two private ranches. I believe there is a mine there too. There are many cabins on the road off of Beasore about a mile past the Jones Store. They are mostly rustic and small so I would guess they wouldn't fall into the spa resort category.

I fully support your renting of a cabin for a week, Munge....buddy ol pal.

The management at the Jones Store in Beasore Meadows supposedly rents some cabins up there. Vern Black, in his 90s, is always good for a chat.

A bit pricey, but this rental is very likely in Beasore Meadows (10 min. from Chilkoot lake noted).

And if you poke around, there are always a few small cabins for sale in the Meadows and vicinity. I've been tempted in the past...

that homeaway cabin looks tight. Split the cost amongst a couple couples, and we got gold! Doesn't look far to LE or Boulder Garden either.

and it's available next labor day weekend.

Nice! I always wanted to get something there too. Kinda like the ol' climbers ranch.
Saw a place a number years ago....went for $165....just under $200

From time to time, you bet. Showers and bug free environment for sleeping in, make mrs. munge a happy camper. :)

and at a week long trip, I like a shower too. :)

Yeah I love the camping, but then I don't live in a cabin and love staying in cabins too. Sometimes it's the only way to get some people out there with you like family. Favorite place I stayed was in a rental in foresta called the half dome house. We just got lucky to get it for one night on a new years eve in the snow... normally 2 to 3 night rentals are required. It has great views... is rustic and comfortable... enjoyed pretending it was mine for too short a time.

Ok, if it gets your lady out there and family.

Boo on the bug and shower excuse. Come on Buttercup.

Also ok on Foresta , camping in the Ditch isn't camping. Although I know a few of you don't mind camping next to the road on a pile of sand.

I am just missing the awesome camping in SoYo and the campfire yacking, most of it anyway.

Werd. I thought we told everyone the story of her allergic reaction to skeets and the Oakdale drugstore where people were looking at me like I had popped her. Hah :)

Very nice! Esp. the half mil place. Hadn't seen that one anywhere out there.

The other place looks nice too, but no hot tub? We drove by Bass Lake going north recently and kept expecting to see fire damage from the road. Never did.

Location of the half mil place is interesting. Don't recall seeing cabins in that vicinity. Not very far up the road, so not so close to the crags for sure. But the advantage is that you could access it all year 'round without a snowmobile, unlike Beasore Meadows.
