Flowers at Fresno Dome
« on: June 13, 2013, 02:57:58 pm »
Anyone going to Fresno Dome over the next week or so should take a little extra time to check out the flowers in the meadow by the parking. The bloom is at its peak and the meadow is literally covered with Shooting Stars and Bistort. Also tons of Cinquefoil, Streamside Bluebells, Narrow Leaf Lotus, Paintbrush, Columbine and the Big Leaf Lupine is just starting. Lots of other flowers in smaller numbers too.

No flowers on Sat. the meadow is muddy with still a bit of a drift on part of it. Had time for a quick run up South Pillar with a newbie to the area from Metal Mark. A few icy drifts on the trail going in. Very chilly in the morn (36) and then the wind picked up. Sun was hit and miss as some clouds started creeping over. Wind breaker jackets were enough to keep from hypo.

Climb was totally awesome as always. This time I only took a pink, red & brown tricam for pro.......oh and the monkeys fist of course! Never get tired of that climb. Sure glad it's not in Yosemite.

Had to stop at South Gate for a cold port on the way down the hill.
